What Is a Modular or Mobile Building?

A modular building (also known as a mobile building) is a prefabricated structure built off-site in sections, then transported and assembled at the final location. These buildings can be temporary and moveable—perfect for short-term or seasonal needs—or permanent, offering the same strength, safety, and comfort as traditional construction.
Because they’re built in controlled environments, modular buildings can be completed faster, with consistent quality, and with less disruption to your site. Once delivered, they can be installed, expanded, or relocated with minimal downtime.

Understanding “Plex” and Building Configurations

The term plex refers to how multiple modular sections (also called “modules” or “floors”) are configured:

1 Plex : A single modular unit, typically one floor, used for offices, classrooms, or small facilities.

2 Plex : Two connected modular units, creating a larger, open space or a combination of rooms.

3 Plex : Three connected modules for even greater capacity and layout flexibility.

4 Plex and Beyond: Larger complexes made from four or more modules, customizable in size, shape, and layout.
