Modular Classrooms
Portable classrooms continue to be one of the most efficient, flexible, and scalable ways for schools to expand without disrupting learning. In 2025, the demand for adaptable educational environments has only grown—and our team at MBSI remains committed to delivering modular solutions that support today’s evolving instructional needs.
One of the projects that still stands out to us dates back to 2021, when MBSI served as the contractor of record, coordinating with Everett Whitehead & Son, Inc. on a new modular classroom initiative for The Language and Literacy Center in Central Florida. As a public charter school serving Pre-K through 12th-grade students with special needs, the center required a thoughtful and accessible design—something our team was proud to provide.
The project included portable classrooms designed to create active learning spaces for students while also supplying functional office space for administrators and staff. The build was completed in just 60 days, thanks to the streamlined project management and on-site service coordination our clients have come to expect from MBSI.
Flexible Portable Facility Options
While modular classrooms remain one of our most requested solutions, MBSI continues to provide a full range of portable and custom-built school facilities, including:
Restrooms
Cafeterias
Gymnasiums
Administrative offices
Teachers’ lounges
Computer labs
Furniture available for rent or purchase
These options allow schools to scale quickly, maintain continuity during construction or renovation, and respond to rapid enrollment growth.

Modular Buildings Designed for Full Accessibility
Accessibility has only become more essential in recent years, and every structure we provide is built to align with the latest Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. When delivering ADA-compliant modular buildings, MBSI evaluates five key components:
1. Building Access
Many modular buildings are elevated around 36 inches off the ground. When a deeper foundation isn’t feasible, we provide compliant ramps and access points as part of our ancillary services.
2. External Pathways
We ensure ADA-required parking, sidewalks, and access routes seamlessly connect to your modular structure.
3. Doorways
All door frames meet minimum ADA width requirements (32 inches) and allow a 90-degree opening clearance. Lever-style handles and accessible hardware are included to meet code and enhance usability.
4. Hallways
Hallways measure at least 36 inches wide, and when two-way passing is common, we expand to the ADA-recommended 60 inches.
5. Restrooms
Every detail matters—stall rails, fixture heights, turning space, and placement of sinks, soap, and towel dispensers are all planned to support safe, independent restroom use.
